Trigger in Oracle PL SQL Interview Questions And Answers For Experience & Freshers | Interview Preparation


Trigger is a PLSQL block structure which is automatically fired when an event occurs in the database.

The event can be DDL, DML or system events.

A trigger code is automatically fired when an associate event occurs in the database.


Types of Triggers:

1) DML Trigger

2) DDL Trigger

3) System Trigger

4) Instead of Trigger

5) Compound Trigger


Purpose of the Trigger :

1) Trigger is used for auditing the data.

2) Enforcing complex referential integrity

Whatever the integrity constraints which we can not enforce through primary key, foreign key constraints that can be enforced through the trigger.

3) Logging

Whenever you want to capture who changed the particular data then we can use the trigger for logging the information.

4) Enforcing security for the transactions
